Fabrics That Need Dry Cleaning
These days it is nearly impossible to get time to wash our clothes ourselves at home. Many people prefer laundry service to save time. Well laundry service is not needed for all the fabrics you wear. But there are a few fabrics for which there is no alternative other than dry cleaning.
Casual cleaning or hand wash is a strict NO for these fabrics. These delicate fabric fibers will be spoiled if hand washed. These fabrics are quite expensive and you don’t want to spoil them. Hence you shouldn’t take any chance with these fabrics.
One of those fabrics is silk. Silk garment is quite expensive. If you don’t take proper care this fabric can be destroyed. It is true that silk gets stronger when it is wet. Still you need to dry clean it because the fiber loose its shape if not dry cleaned. Dry cleaning use bleaching chemical and hot temperature which ensures that the fabric will retain its shape.
Another fabric that requires dry cleaning is cotton voile or muslin. Professional dry cleaning is absolutely necessary for this fabric. This natural fiber tears quite easily. If you pull it slightly or try to hand wash it the fiber will be destroyed immediately. Never try to hand wash cotton voile if you don’t want a ripped piece of cloth.
The same is true for Cashmere wool. Cashmere cloth is very durable but only when you take proper care. Hand washing a Cashmere cloth can make it loose its shape. Therefore availing dry cleaning services is absolutely necessary for it.
